Heavy D (R.I.P.)

Dwight Errington Myers (May 24th 1967 – November 8th 2011)

The self styled “Overweight Lover” who was born in Mandeville, Jamaica, recorded 5 albums with his crew “The Boyz” (as Heavy D & The Boyz) on Uptown Records, a label he went on to eventually run. Hev proceeded to make a further 4 albums as a solo artist & also moved into acting.

His 2008 release “Vibes” is the all reggae album he always promised to do as a tribute to Jamaica, the land of his birth. The 9th & final album “Love Opus” was released exactly 6 week before his untimely death.

So, with the sad news of Heavy D’s passing on Tuesday November 8th, let’s remind ourselves of his work with a look at the discography.
